As of 25 May, Luigi Marconi is the new President of Cocif. Under the Cooperative’s new governance structure, he will work alongside Gabriele Gardini, Samuele Maraldi and Alessandro Montanari, who have been appointed General Managers.

Some materials do not seek attention, yet fully deserve it. Aluminium is one of them: lightweight, accurate, able to bring more light indoors and greater freedom to architectural design. Its strength lies in its discretion. Its quality lies in the way it is crafted.

Eighty years are not just a milestone. They are a threshold. A door crossed by generations of workers, projects, ideas, challenges and changes. A door made of time, commitment and collective trust.

There are materials that alone tell an entire design philosophy.
Wood and aluminum together are exactly that: nature and technology, warmth and strength, tradition and innovation.

A trend that partly echoes the industrial style of northern European countries and which, for various reasons, is beginning to characterize more and more environments.

Every year we are lucky enough in Italy to host one of the world’s most important international events on design and furniture: the Salone del Mobile in Milan, the number one event in the sector. Precisely for this reason, national and international companies come here to present their most interesting proposals and the innovations that will subsequently take hold on the market.

We may not be in Japan or California, but when it comes to earthquakes, Italy is considered one of the high-risk countries. And, unfortunately, the experiences of previous years have shown us the full drama of earthquake events of which, we have often been totally unprepared.

We could write about how beautiful the doors of a company like Cocif are compared to those of competitors, talk about the quality of the materials, the care in the production system, the many types that fit everyone’s needs.

Increasingly frequent environmental awareness and education campaigns show us unequivocally one thing: we live in an increasingly polluted world and we are always doing too little to reverse this dangerous trend.

So much for personalization: once upon a time, all our efforts were aimed at being part of a group, an inherent human attitude that, for many things, naturally led people to want to follow the masses in their behavior, tastes and habits.

Ring the bell, let’s hurry! Everyone inside, before the janitors close the school doors and the teachers close the classroom doors! When we talk about doors, we certainly think of our homes, offices or stores, and hotels, but we hardly ever raise the issue of doors in schools, unless we are the school manager.

I don’t think I am wrong if I say that we all remember the famous scene of the little boy – Danny – on the tricycle in front of the Grady twins in the famous film “The Shining” directed by Stanley Kubrik in 1980, based on the equally famous novel by Stephen King.

The importance of natural light to humans is now proven: the sun is a source of life and we have been aware of it since the dawn of time, as evidenced by the manifestations of worship by ancient peoples aimed at making it one of the most important gods.

Throughout history it is not uncommon to see a return to the past to revive architecture deemed too “modern”, in a negative sense. And the classic style is the timeless reference whenever taste and elegance are to be brought back to the forefront.

The statistics also underscore something else: in absolute terms, residential burglaries are decreasing, and beyond the spread of increasingly advanced alarm systems, this is also a symptom that, when talking about security doors, the products are getting better and better performing.

How many times have we chosen a beautiful hotel, to stay in on vacation or for business, in a dream location, with beautifully designed rooms – classic or contemporary, depending on our taste – impeccable service… and yet, we couldn’t wait to get away?
